Judging System

I-judge platform was initiated as a Go-Green Concept Project in 2012 by Mr. Vajeendra S Kandegamage who was The Chairman, NBQSA for over a decade. Mr. Kandegamage identified the requirement of a fully automated judging system considering the time and other resource wastage incurred during NBQSA evaluation process including the paper wastage.

This was further strengthened by then chairman of BCS SL Late Prof. Gihan
Wickramanaike, then Secretary Mr. Ruwan Amarasekara. This well proven concept was accepted and adopted by then Chairman of Judging Panel NBQSA 2012, Mr. Geethapriya Tillekaratne. He himself had volunteered to head the team of veterans in the ICT industry to complete this mission. This initial team comprised of Mr. Geethapriya Tillekaratne (Head), Dr. Dileepa De Silva (Advisory Judge for APICTA), Mr. Vajeendra S. Kandegamage (Chairman NBQSA), Mr. Ruwan Amarasekara (Secretary BCSL) whom were well experienced APICTA judges for many years. At the initial version release, Mr. Sanharsha Jyathissa and his volunteered team worked hard to make this concept a reality.

Since then, it has evolved and has become the most wanted tool for NBQSA with the continuous improvements made by the BCS Exco members throughout the years. This platform was designed and developed according to the APICTA judging criteria and endorsed by the Judging Advisory committee of the APICTA in 2015. Then this specialized platform was selected for the evaluation process of the APICTA 2015 which was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

2nd  version of the i-Judge platform was released at APICTA Vietnam in 2019 and has endorsed the I-Judge as the official Judging platform for APICTA.

The distinguished team managed to release the 3 rd  version of the platform in 2020 which has more features to support Online real time evaluation process during the pandemic period for NBQSA 2020 and the same version was used for APICTA 2021 online evaluation process which was held virtually in Malaysia.

NBQSA & I-Judge team managed to secure further engagements with Singapore SG Tech Awards, Malaysian local Awards to support their local competitions similar to the NBQSA in Sri Lanka.

As the platform evolved continuously, features with Hybrid evaluation capabilities were introduced for the APICTA 2022 competition which was held in Islamabad, Pakistan headed by Mr. Sanjeeva Perera, Mr. Alanzo Dolle and Dr. Anuradha Jayakody.

Hybrid version of i-Judge platform can handle judges both onsite and remote concurrently in online real-time mode and publish results instantly.

Furthermore, i-Judge is now equipped with a dashboard for the chief judge and for the advisory panel of judges to monitor any abnormal behavior of scoring done by judges.
i-Judge project is one of the Key success stories of NBQSA Team and has become the secondarily revenue generator to the NBQSA as the APICTA Economies are in process of using this platform as their official evaluation system in their local ICT Competitions for selecting nominees to the international competitions in near future.
