Mr. Vajeendra S Kandegamage is a highly skilled Chartered IT Professional with proven track records for over 27 years in the IT industry. Being a results-oriented individual and a well-established entrepreneur, he shows his capabilities by holding many positions at various private sector organizations.
Further, for over 15 years he is been recognised continuously as one of the most experienced ICT judges at both national and International ICT competitions. At present he is working as the Managing Director/ CEO of Stemcore Asia (Pvt) Limited.
In addition, his continuous contribution as the Chairman for National ICT Awards – NBQSA, for 10 consecutive years recognises his management and leadership capabilities. He also holds office in many honoured positions at BCS The chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka and Asia Pacific ICT Alliance.
Chairman (2019 – 2020)
Mr. K V Kuganathan is a seasoned Business, Digital & IT Strategist for Financial sector. He has over 23 years of experience, with 7+ at the C-level. Currently working as a Chief Information officer at Janashakthi Insurance PLC. He has transformed National Development Bank PLC as the Sri Lankan Leading Mobility Banking solution provider for its loyal customer by Heading Digital & IT Strategy. Further he initiated & Head the E Banking division at Hatton National Bank PLC.
Kugan is known for his innovative, creative and results-oriented leadership in building, transforming financial model into Digital businesses with an acute focus on achieving exceptional results. Kugan also has the distinction in MSc in IT Consultancy as well as Degree in Computing and Information Systems. He has many prestigious accolades to his credit in recognition of his contribution and is a renowned public speaker at many International conferences focusing on Channel Optimization. He has Judged NBQSA ICT Awards & Asia Pacific ICT Awards since 2011.He is serving as a Non-Executive Director for UPAY.
Chairman (2018 – 2019)
Mr. Ransith Fernando is a co-founder and Managing Director of a data analytics company Forestpin (Pvt) Ltd. Prior to Forestpin he managed a fifty member IT business applications team for a US$ Billion plus company running SAP systems in Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and Indonesia. He has many years of experience in the IT field including management, offshore software development and training. He has been a speaker, panelist, moderator and Judge at IT events in Sri Lanka, India, Hong Kong, Bangladesh and Taiwan. Ransith is also actively involved with the IT industry of Sri Lanka. He also served as a member of the expert panel in selecting grantees for Innovation Awards under ICBP (ICT capacity building program) implemented by the ICTA agency of Sri Lanka in 2008. Is regular member of the panel of judges for the National Best Quality Software Awards in Sri Lanka.
Ransith holds a Computer Science Degree from the University of Colombo, MBA from the University of Moratuwa and further executive education in information technology at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Ransith lives with his wife in Colombo. In his spare time Ransith is an avid chess player. Ransith Fernando has been a member of BCS for 30 years.
Chairman (2015 – 2018)
Mr. Ruwan Amarasekara has been a Chartered member of BCS and obtained his MBA from University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He has a Post graduate Diploma in Marketing and is an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. He has been an Executive Committee Member of BCS Sri Lanka Section since 2004.
He was extensively involved in many projects carried out by the Sri Lanka Section mainly organizing and judging activities of National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) competition. He led the Main organizing committee of Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2015 held in Colombo Sri Lanka and had been an Executive Committee member & judge of APICTA Awards representing Sri Lanka in many instances since 2005.
Chairman (2013 – 2014)
Mr. M. G. Tillekeratne is a chartered member of the BCS and a chartered member of IESL. He graduated in the field of Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering from University of Moratuwa in 1978. He is currently the Additional General Manager (Distribution Division 4) at the Ceylon Electricity Board. He has worked as a communications engineer, Computer & SCADA systems engineer, Project Manager for digital microwave network project and the Deputy General Manager (Information Technology) before becoming an Additional General Manager in the CEB and has over 35 years of experience in the field of ICT and engineering. He has served as the Chief Judge in the Panel of Judges for NBQSA from 2008 to 2012.
Mr. Tillekeratne is serving as a section committee member since 2006/07. He held the post of Treasurer from 2008/09 to 2011/12.
Chairman (2007 – 2012 & 2014 – 2015)
Late Senior Professor Gihan Wikramanayake was with over 33 years of diverse IT experience in the areas of computing from systems design and development to ICT education. Prof. Gihan held a PhD and MSc in Computer Science from the University of Wales, United Kingdom. He acquired his BSc in Statistics and Mathematics from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1983. He was a Chartered Fellow of the BCS and was the director of the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC) for 2 consecutive terms between 2010 to 2016. He served four terms as the Chairman of BCS The Chartered Institute for IT, Sri Lanka Section and has been with BCS executive committee since 2003 until his untimely demise in 2018.
In 2011 he was appointed for the Council of BCS UK for a three year term. Prior to 2010 he served the UCSC as the deputy director and as the head of department and has played the role of the Academic Coordinator of the flagship Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) degree programme and the first Computer Science Special degree Programme at University of Colombo. Professor Gihan was a visiting researcher at Umea and Stockholm University, Sweden and at University of New Mexico, USA. As an academic he has published many important articles and book chapters on ICT. He has been a frontline speaker at many National and international conferences. He held positions in other associations such as CSSL and IEEE. Professor Gihan is also a board of director of the Sri Lanka Software Testing Board and Theekshana a UCSC Company. He has been the team leader of many national Olympiad teams and is associated with the National / International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), National / International School’s Software Competition, National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA), Young Computer Scientist (YCS) and Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA).
Chairman (2008- 2009)
Mr. Sujeewa Dissanayake has been a Chartered member of BCS and obtained his MBA from University of Lincoln, UK. He became the Chairman of British Computer Society (BCS) Sri Lanka Section after serving in the committee for four years.
He was extensively involved in organizing of National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) competition. Mr. Dissanayake is the Vice President – Head of Information Technology at NDB Bank PLC. Before joining the NDB Bank, Mr Dissanayake worked at Pan-Asia Bank and the Union Bank of Colombo as Head of IT. He came to banking from the IBM World Trade Corporation, where he was IT specialist for the finance industry. He has over 26 years experience in IT, 20 of which were acquired in the banking sector.

Dr. Dileepa De Silva is an IT Management Consultant who has been involved in the area of Information Technology and Engineering for 30 years. He has adoctorate in Engineering and a Masters’ Degree in Engineering. He is a Fellow Member of the British Computer Society, a Fellow Member of Chartered Management Institute of UK, Chartered IT Practitioner (CITP) and a member of Computer Society of Sri Lanka. He served as the Chairman of the British Computer Society (BCS) Sri Lanka Section in 2006/07.

Mr. K. Ramathas served as the Chairman of the British Computer Society (BCS) Sri Lanka Section for two years.
Chairman (2002 – 2004)
Mr. Jayantha De Silva is the Managing Director and Vice President of Asia Region of IFS Sri Lanka. He was presented “ICT Most Outstanding Contribution Award” by the BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Section in 2011. He served as the Chairman of the British Computer Society (BCS) Sri Lanka Section for two years.

Dr. Bandu Ranasinghe is the Chairman and founder of the IDM Group of Companies. He served as the Chairman of the British Computer Society (BCS) Sri Lanka Section for five years.
Chairman (1996 – 1997)
Dr. Gamini Wickramasinghe is the founder chairman of the British Computer Society (BCS) Sri Lanka Section. He is the Managing Director of Informatics Group of Companies. He was presented the “Lifetime Achievement Award for ICT 2009” by the British Computer Society (BCS) Sri Lanka Section for his outstanding contribution made to the ICT Industry of Sri Lanka for the last 26 years.
