The 29th Annual General Meeting of BCS – The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Section (BCSSL) was held on 28 February 2025 at the Hilton Colombo Residences. The event brought together leading IT professionals and industry stakeholders to chart the future of Sri Lanka’s IT landscape. During the AGM, Mr. Vajeendra S. Kandegamage was elected as Chairman for a second term, reflecting the members’ strong confidence in his vision and extensive experience.
In his address, Chairman Kandegamage expressed deep gratitude for the trust bestowed upon him and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing IT professionalism, digital transformation, and industry collaboration across the country. He also acknowledged the significant contributions of Immediate Past Chairman, Mr. Alanzo Doll, and highlighted the progress achieved over the past two years.

The newly elected BCSSL leadership for 2025 is as follows:
Chairman – Mr. Vajeendra S. Kandegamage : A distinguished leader with over three decades of experience excelling in roles ranging from system analysis and software development to strategic leadership and executive management. His career began at HP Sri Lanka and advanced through key roles at Seven Seas Computers, Infotech Solutions Inc., and his own venture, Info Link. More recently, he served as Director/CEO at iPropylea (Private) Limited and currently holds the position of Managing Director/CEO at Stemcore Asia (Private) Limited. His contributions to the ICT community extend beyond the corporate sphere, with significant volunteer work through BCSSL and active participation in the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance.
Hon. Secretary – Prof. Lasith Gunawardena: A Senior Academic and Digital Trust Advocate who currently serves as the Head, Department of Information Technology at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He also functions as a Researcher Director for ORCID Inc, and Advisory Board of STEMUP Foundation, and is the Crossref Ambassador for Sri Lanka. He has been a member of the BCSSL Executive Committee since 2018.
Hon. Treasurer -Mr. Sanharsha Jayatissa : A seasoned executive leading global operation across multiple regions. He drives operational excellence, optimizes processes, and enhances efficiency while spearheading strategic initiatives. With expertise in cost optimization, sustainability, and innovation, he fosters collaboration and aligns operations with long-term objectives to achieve business growth and transformational success.
Immediate Past Chairman: Mr Alanzo Doll currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Engenuity AI Ltd, Board Director of Pership Group of Companies and is the Co-Founder / Director of Triune Consulting International (Pvt) Ltd. He has been a member of BCSSL Executive Committee since 2009.

Vision for 2025
BCSSL is committed to advancing professional development and certification by expanding Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs and strengthening university-industry collaborations to align academic curricula with global IT standards. This initiative ensures that IT professionals in Sri Lanka obtain globally recognized certifications and benefit from enhanced career growth opportunities.
Simultaneously, BCSSL aims to drive national digital transformation by partnering with government and industry leaders to introduce forward-thinking programs focused on AI, Data Science and cybersecurity. In addition, BCSSL Envisages, the establishment of an Industry-Innovation Hub to bridge academia, startups, and enterprises, encouraging collaboration and technological advancement, in line with the National ICT Awards, NBQSA – which was initiated in 1996.
Beyond professional development, BCSSL is dedicated to enhancing community engagement and driving social impact. The organization actively promotes digital inclusion through nationwide tech education initiatives, mentorship, and entrepreneurship support programs to nurture emerging IT talent.
