It is an honor to be elected as Chairman of the BCS Sri Lanka section for the year 2023 / 2024. My journey with the BCS Sri Lanka section spans over 12 years having been involved in several project subcommittees, judge at both National ICT awards & APICTA awards and serving as a section office bearer in the capacity of treasurer for the past two years.
This year is a significant and transformational year for our entire ICT industry, with the honourable president of Sri Lanka Mr Ranil Wicramasinghe declaring his commitment to build a digitalised modern Sri Lanka, at the launching ceremony of DIGICON 2030.
What we do
We conduct many activities aimed at our professional members and the ICT Industry. Since 1998, we conduct the National ICT Awards, popularly known as NBQSA annually – Sri Lanka’s flagship ICT event of the year.

We showcase outstanding Sri Lankan ICT products to the World
National ICT Awards, NBQSA is Sri Lanka’s most prestigious, pioneering competition organized to recognize the best and most innovative local ICT products, Organisations, and individuals who are instrumental in shaping the ICT industry. The winners of NBQSA are nominated annually by BCS The Chartered Institute for IT, Sri Lanka Section to represent Sri Lanka at Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards. (Often referred to as the Oscars of the ICT Industry in Asia-Pacific Region).

Where do we meet
The Executive Committee meets once a month, and holds the AGM at the beginning of the year.
The Sri Lanka section meetings are held at different venues in Colombo.
